Most monitors make you pick: either super sharp 4K or smooth high refresh gaming. This one does both. At 27 inches with 4K resolution, text and images are noticeably crisper than 1440p, so it works well for typing and browsing between gaming sessions. Then when you launch a game, the screen can refresh 160 times per second — fast enough that motion looks fluid, not stuttery like regular 60Hz screens.
The catch is your computer needs serious power to push that many pixels that fast. If your graphics card can't hit high frame rates at 4K, you won't get the full benefit of the speed. The screen also has two HDMI 2.1 ports, which means it'll take full advantage of a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X without holding them back.
The 'HDR Ready' label is marketing speak — this doesn't have the brightness or zone control for real HDR. Treat it as a bright regular screen and you'll be happy.
